The General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) runs social insurance for civil, military and private sector workers in Saudi Arabia. Its Identity and Access Management (IAM) system only worked from inside GOSI offices. Staff could not sign in from anywhere else. Latent rebuilt the system as iOS and Android apps. The apps call Oracle IAM APIs, so staff can work securely off-site.
GOSI’s office-bound IAM system
GOSI’s IAM infrastructure required staff to be in the office. Remote work was not possible, and neither was flexible working. Requests were processed by hand, and each step depended on where the person sat. The system could not keep up as GOSI added IAM features.
Latent’s solution
We built iOS and Android apps that use Oracle IAM APIs for secure off-site access. Authentication and identity controls sit in one central place, and they meet GOSI’s compliance rules. The architecture can take on new features as GOSI needs them.
The results
Staff submit requests from wherever they are, and processing is faster. Fewer steps now wait on someone being in the office. Productivity went up because the work no longer depends on a desk. The system stays compliant and can carry more functionality.
Conclusion
GOSI’s rebuilt IAM shows what mobile-first design does for a workforce spread across the country. It puts secure access in the hands of staff outside the office, holds GOSI’s compliance position, and can grow with the organization.
